Is Bath Water Making Our Kids Sick?

Skin Expert: “Many Parents Are Unaware of the Real Effects of Tap Water On Young Kids”

As a first-time mom, I've always been careful about doing everything "right" for my baby. And this unexpected discovery changed everything for us.

It's why I'm trying to get the word out to everyone as quickly as possible.

From eating healthy to using natural cleaning products and staying active, we thought we were doing everything right.

But when my youngest daughter Maya developed persistent red patches and frequent eczema flare-ups, I was completely thrown off. My first-time mom's community had plenty of suggestions – over-the-counter creams, oatmeal baths, coconut oil, herbal remedies – but nothing provided lasting relief.

It seemed like Maya’s skin was getting worse every single day, it got to the point where the itching was uncontrollable, it was always worse at night and some mornings she would wake up with blood stains on her bed sheets from the itching.

How was my baby supposed to live a normal life while dealing with something so relentless?

Our pediatrician immediately recommended steroid creams, but I'd seen way too many research studies1 about the long-term effects of topical steroids.

Deep down, I knew there had to be a better way, but after trying what seemed like every natural remedy out there with no results, I was starting to lose hope and feel like I was failing my duty as a mom.

The chance encounter that changed everything…

A couple days later in my local parenting group, another mom shared a tip that really caught my attention. She mentioned doing research on water quality and discovering the concerning levels of chemicals and contaminants in our tap water. After installing a shower filter, she noticed remarkable improvements - her hair and her skin became noticeably softer. Her experience made me wonder about our own water quality.

The revelation hit me HARD. I'd been so focused on what I was putting ON my baby's skin, I hadn't considered what was IN her DAILY bath water.

Looking deeper into the research, I was stunned. I found a ton of studies2 explaining how chlorine, fluoride, heavy metals, microplastics and other contaminants are being absorbed through our skin during every bath and shower. And here's what really got me, studies were saying that babies and kids are even more at risk since their skin is 30% thinner and still developing, which means they're absorbing 2-3 times more contaminants than adults.

I immediately started searching for filters, but everything I found seemed poorly made, or just not trustworthy. A few shower filters looked decent, but my baby only takes baths, not showers. I was about to go to sleep when I stumbled across something that truly caught my eye, a hidden gem that met my exact needs, the Tubo Bath Filter. It has an 8-stage natural filtration system that specifically removes skin irritants:

  • Chlorine and chloramines

  • Heavy metals like lead and mercury

  • Microplastics

  • Industrial contaminants

  • Pesticides

I ordered hoping that maybe - just maybe - this would be the solution we'd been desperately searching for.

7 days later I received my order, I felt a mix of nervous excitement and hope. I installed the filter on my bath faucet in less than 30 sec and here’s how it went:

My Tubo Diary:

Day 1: The first thing I noticed was the absence of that swimming pool smell in Maya’s bath water. That night, she only woke up once to scratch, usually it’s 4 or 5 times.

Day 3: The red patches looked a bit less irritated. After the bath, her skin felt a little smoother when I applied her moisturizer and surprisingly, she didn’t start scratching right after like usual.

Day 7: Maya actually slept through the night, which hasn’t happened in a while. Her arms looked a bit lighter, and her cheeks weren’t as raw. Even my mother-in-law asked if we’d started something new.

Day 14: I’ve started using less moisturizer. Maya’s skin isn’t perfect, but it’s looking much better. She seems more comfortable and is playing more during the day and sleeping better too.

Day 30: When I look at photos from a few weeks ago, I can definitely see the difference. Her skin looks calmer, healthier, and she’s scratching way less. We even felt confident enough to take some family photos, something I’d been putting off for a while

If any part of our story sounds familiar to you, I completely understand what you're going through. After seeing such an incredible transformation in my daughter's skin, I had to share our story.

That's why I wrote this blog - because I remember how desperate and helpless I felt searching for solutions.

Please moms, don’t feel guilty if what you’ve tried didn't work, we've all been there it’s part of the process, but trust me better days are coming. For us, the Tubo bath filter changed everything, it only took 14 days before our eczema battle was finally over

So if your child is dealing with eczema right now, I really hope you'll give it a try. Sometimes the simplest solutions make the biggest difference - it certainly did for us.

RECENT UPDATE:
